Wimping out

I haven't been swimming yet this week and if I don't go tonight, I won't go before Friday. I wimped out Sunday night and last night partly because the weather was foul and partly because I thought I had a bad throat coming on. Sounds pathetic, I know, but I am very 'prone' to sore throats and can get them really bad.

I wish I lived in America so I could have a strep throat but instead I am stuck with boring british sore throats of the 'take paracetamol [1] and drink plenty of liquids' variety. So far this approach, combined with lying on the sofa watching tv, has warded off any impending badness. Can I justify it for another night? Put another way, can I justify another night on the sofa? Maybe if I compromise by staying in and not going out in nasty cold wet windy autumnalness, but doing my belly dance video at home?

[1] paracetamol = acetaminophen/tylenol

Just do it, you'll feel better afterwards. And how does a bit of water affect a sore throat anyways? That's just an old wives tale. Are you an old wife? I think not...

tsk stephen stephen. When swimming the body can get cold and when cold it becomes more suseptible to infections. BUT if you're already feeling poorly you should stay in in a normal environmental temeperature. You'll get better quicker. Its all to do with body gap temperatures and fighting infection and all sorts of complex medical stuff that only I know ( meglamaniac)
I have uniform and fob watch and digital thermometer and badge that says staff nurse.
